Ophthalmic Associates

Rick Cosgrove is the practice administrator of Ophthalmic Associates, a network of eye specialists with seven practice locations in the Cambria-Somerset Region, and 60-plus team members treating eye disease and improving vision. In addition, their state-of-the-art surgical center is used to provide lasik, cataract, eyelid surgery and more. Rick is also an adjunct professor of Management and Marketing at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.

Cosgrove completed his BS in Business/Marketing at IUP in 1986. He also holds a master's degree in International Studies from Lock Haven University and a graduate certificate in International Business Management from Point Park University.

Rick has been a member of the IUP BAC since his graduation in 1986, carrying on the tradition of BAC member, IUP grad, and mentor Dean S. C. Williams, who hired Cosgrove upon graduation. The two met while Rick worked his senior year for the IUP Foundation alumni giving campaign. Cosgrove is active in many other professional and civic groups, including Our Mother of Sorrows Church finance council, Lee Initiatives board of directors, Penn Highlands Community College board of advisors, and Medical Group Management Association. Rick is also the recipient of a Pennsylvania Rural Arts Alliance/National Endowment for the Arts grant for his historical music collection "American Dreams," including songs he wrote and recorded about Western PA steel, railroad, and mining history.

Cosgrove resides in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, with his wife, Christine, and their sons, Rex and Leo.
