Who Qualifies
Thanks to an OSHA-funded grant, we’re excited to offer free safety training to small businesses throughout Pennsylvania. This opportunity is available to businesses in the manufacturing, construction, service, and healthcare and social assistance industries.
Pennsylvania’s workforce is incredibly diverse, and many employees speak English as a second language. That can make understanding complicated safety information difficult. Our training is designed to make safety information clear, practical, and easy to apply on the job. To reach more workers and remove language barriers, training can be offered in both English and Spanish.
This 24-month program focuses on hands-on learning using proven adult education methods. Sessions are interactive and practical, so employees walk away with real skills they can use immediately in their day-to-day work.
Note: A small business is defined as serving 0–249 employees per site or fewer than 500 corporate-wide.
Training Topics
You can choose from three focused training options, depending on your workplace needs:
-
Chemical Hazard Communication Competency
Help workers understand and apply Hazard Communication (HazCom) requirements so they can better protect themselves and others from chemical hazards. -
Chemical Inhalation and Absorption Hazard Awareness
Teach workers how to recognize, understand, and respond to workplace risks related to chemical inhalation and skin absorption. -
Lockout/Tagout
Build workers’ ability to identify different energy sources in the workplace and understand how to properly control them to prevent injuries.
Where Training Takes Place
We can bring the training directly to your workplace, or we can host the training at a convenient location near your job site, if available.
How Long Is the Training?
Each session includes three contact hours, and attendees will be awarded a certificate upon completion. Employees can attend up to two sessions in a single day.
