Alumni Artistry: The Aesthetic Legacy of IUP

An art exhibition that celebrates 150 years of creative excellence at IUP featuring works from alumni artists across the nation, this show highlights the enduring artistic contributions of those who have been part of the IUP community.

The public is invited to join us for a special opening reception on Saturday, January 25, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the University Museum in Sutton Hall. Guests will have an opportunity to explore the exhibition, connect with others who share an appreciation for the arts, and reflect on the university’s rich artistic history as it marks its 150th anniversary. Several of the alumni artists featured in the exhibition will be in attendance, offering an opportunity to meet the creators and learn more about their work.

This event is free and open to the public, and all are welcome to attend.

The University Museum Goes Downtown: Selected Works from the Collection

The University Museum at IUP returns to the Artists Hand, 732 Philadelphia Street, to kick off the IUP@150 celebration with an exhibit of pieces from the University Museum’s Permanent Collection featuring university professors, dating back to the inception of the Art Department.


The University Museum is located on the first floor of Sutton Hall. Museum hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 2:00–6:30 p.m.; Thursday noon–7:30 p.m.; and Saturday noon–4:30 p.m.. The museum is closed Sundays, Mondays, and university holidays.
