Gilded Age to Great War: Milton Bancroft and His Art

Academically trained in Boston, Philadelphia, and Paris, and nationally recognized for his portraits and architectural murals, Milton Bancroft's Impressionistic work reflected changes in American culture and art from the late 19th century through World War I.

Gala: A 40th Anniversary Celebration in Black and White

The University Museum's 40th annual benefit gala will be classic fun with a Black and White theme. Think vintage films… French mimes… fingers jazzing on piano keys. Black tie? Optional. Zebra stripes or domino dots? Possible. Fun? By all means!

Holiday Wheels and Thrills: A Model Train Display

Frank Mason: A Passion for Painting

February 4–March 11, 2017, University Museum, Sutton Hall

Reception Saturday, February 4, 2017, 6:00–8:30 p.m.

Frank Mason's classical paintings—his portraits, still-lives, and landscapes—are reminiscent of the classic painting styles of Van Gogh and Vermeer. Throughout his career, Mason earned scores of international honors and was often commissioned to paint the portraits of princes, cardinals, and governors.

2017 MFA Thesis Exhibitions
