For the fourteenth year, members of Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Greek community—its 24 fraternities and sororities—continued a holiday tradition of helping families in the Indiana community.

IUP Graduate, Young Alumni Achievement Award Winner, Makes Gift to Honor Late IUP Trustee

A former Indiana University of Pennsylvania student trustee and Young Alumni Achievement Award recipient has made a $25,000 gift to IUP in honor of the late Gealy Wallwork, who served as a member of the IUP Council of Trustees from 1992 to 2018. The gift from Andrew Longacre, of Presto, will be used to establish the Gealy Wallwork Memorial Scholarship.

IUP Hosting Algerian Freedom Advocate Rahmani and Poet and Comedian Avila

Two internationally known civil rights and diversity advocates will present programs at IUP in October 2022. Anouar Rahmani, a journalist, author, and law expert from Algeria, will be at IUP on October 12; and professor, author, and comedian Javier Ávila will present his one-man show on October 18. Both programs are free and open to the community.

Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s annual Homecoming celebration, September 30 through October 2, is expected to draw thousands to Indiana for alumni reunions and events for the entire community, including the annual parade and football game.

They Walked, They Spoke, and IUP Listened

Election Day Bash: Get Out the Vote!

IUP Votes will hold an event outside of Zink Hall on Election Day—Tuesday, November 2—to encourage students to vote. Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Stop by on the Zink Hall lawn from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for hot chocolate, coffee, and appetizers, plus games and merch.
