III. Co-Chairs Report:
• Sechrist shared a few details about the meeting about Liberal Studies that was held on Friday afternoon with President Werner, Dave Pistole, Gail Wilson, Peter Broad, and Gerry Intemann. We should receive something from the Liberal Studies Committee about the revised Liberal Studies proposal in a couple of weeks.
• Sechrist also shared an email response from Dave Pistole and the Liberal Studies Committee about the LBST 281 courses discussed at Senate that are Special Topic courses, not new courses, in an “experimental stage of development.” It was the criteria for Special Topics that was used not the criteria for FYE.
• Sechrist will share with the Liberal Studies Committee that members are still concerned that a student might be able to take a 200 level version and a 400 level version of what is essentially the same class.
• UWUCC recommends that David Pistole attend the November Senate meeting to answer any questions
• Sechrist also was asked by David LaPorte from the Rules committee about her perspective on the Liberal Studies Committee because of concerns expressed to him.
