All music majors are eligible for scholarships, which are determined based on your audition.

Music Ensembles

Our ensembles are available to any student, regardless of major. Any IUP student who has reached 15 credits of classes may participate in additional ensembles for zero credit, so you can be part of the IUP music scene without having to pay additional tuition.

IUP Marching Band 100th Celebration Just Around the Corner

The IUP Marching Band celebrates its 100th anniversary November 4–6, 2022.

Accepting Applications for IUP Cellobration Day: Saturday, November 12

The IUP String Area is hosting an IUP Cellobration Day on Saturday, November 12, featuring guest cellist Janet Anthony and IUP faculty member Linda Jennings. The theme of the Festival is Social Justice through Music – Building Leaders Using Music Education in Haiti. Anthony will share her experiences mentoring music students and teachers in Haiti over the past 30 years.

IUP Hosting Internationally Known Composer, Conductor for Residency Sept. 26–29

Indiana University of Pennsylvania will host two internationally known music artists for a four-day residency September 26–29. Composer Cindy McTee and conductor Leonard Slatkin will offer lectures, masterclasses, and leading rehearsals during the residency as Edward R. Sims Distinguished Artists.

IUP String Project Accepting Applications for Fall 2022 Semester

The IUP String Project, a community music education outreach program for children ages 5–18 in Indiana and the surrounding area, is now accepting applications for private lesson instruction on violin, viola, cello, and bass. Applications are due on September 1. An IUP String Project Open House will kick off the season on Saturday, September 10. Lessons will begin the week of September 12.
