All music majors are eligible for scholarships, which are determined based on your audition.

Music Ensembles

Our ensembles are available to any student, regardless of major. Any IUP student who has reached 15 credits of classes may participate in additional ensembles for zero credit, so you can be part of the IUP music scene without having to pay additional tuition.

All-Steinway School - Steinway and Sons Indiana University of Pennsylvania is an All-Steinway School and is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music.


Tubaphonium Ensemble Performs at International Conference

Ten members of the IUP Tuba and Euphonium Studio recently traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, to participate in the International Euphonium and Tuba Festival, held June 19–26, 2022, at Emory University. The IUP tuba and euphonium players, all members of the IUP Tubaphonium Ensemble, were invited, along with their professor, Zach Collins, to be featured performers during the festival. Zach Collins was also featured as a resident composer.

Paul Presents Conducting Workshop at Pennsylvania Music Educators Association Summer Conference

The 2022 PMEA Summer Conference, the first in-person since 2019, was held in Reading, Pa. July 18-19. Tim Paul was selected to present a conducting clinic entitled "Proper Hinge Use = Healthy Conductors."

Drum Major Academy Revived and Revamped for 2022

The IUP DMLGA was held June 27–July 1, 2022, on IUP’s campus. Seventy applicants, ranging from ninth graders to high school seniors registered to be a part of the camp.

Music Department Hosts First Summer Music Camp

The IUP Department of Music held its first Summer Music Camp June 26–July 2, 2022. More than 50 seventh- through 12th-grade student musicians participated in the week-long camp. 

Registration for Marching Band 100th Anniversary Reunion Now Available

You are invited to a special reunion celebrating 100 years of the IUP Marching Band. Join us November 4–6, 2022, to participate in the alumni band halftime performance and attend the alumni reception and dinner. Be there as we debut "Sustaining Grace," a documentary produced and created by Marching Band alumni.
