Ileana Townsend

Ileana has an undergraduate degree in Biology from the National University of Honduras and a master’s degree in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation from the University of Florida.

Her professional international experience includes presenting original research at scientific conferences and participation in workshops in Cuba, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Chile, and she has coauthored 13 scientific papers in high-impact journals analyzing patterns of endemism and conservation status in amphibians. Her experience in higher education includes biology instruction and coordinating leadership and development programs for a variety of age groups and educational and cultural backgrounds.
