Emma ArcherEmma is director of International Student and Scholar Services.

In her role with the OIE, Emma helps international students, visiting scholars, and their dependents maintain their visa status, transition to life at IUP, connect with campus and community resources, and participate in OIE programming for opportunities to learn and share. She provides support for the OIE SkillZone Tutoring Center, which connects international students with peer tutors, and the American Language Institute, which offers intensive English instruction.

Emma completed her MEd in Literacy at IUP and MA TESOL at American University. Before coming to IUP, she taught English learners at Northern Virginia Community College, served as a Peace Corps teacher trainer in Mongolia, worked with refugee families for the Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council, and taught Spanish in Louisville public schools.
