Applicants must meet the following qualifications in order to be admitted to the Act 120 Academy:
- Be a minimum of 18 years of age
- Possess a high school diploma/GED equivalency
- Not have a conviction for any state or federal offense which is punishable by more than one year imprisonment as verified by a Pennsylvania State Police criminal history. In Pennsylvania, this includes all misdemeanors of the second degree, first degree, and all felonies. (An ARD is not considered a conviction.)
- Be in good physical condition. Refer to MPOTEC fitness standards.
- Have a strong personal commitment to the field of law enforcement
- Possess a valid driver's license
