Council of Trustees Approve Naming of Trumpet Studio in Honor of Retired Faculty Member Eisensmith

At its meeting on March 23, Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Council of Trustees honored retired Music Department faculty member Kevin Eisensmith by naming a space in IUP’s Cogswell Hall, home to the department, in his honor.

IUP Hosting Ambassador of Mali to Give Two Presentations, March 21–22

The Ambassador of Mali to the United States, Sekou Berthé, will give two presentations at IUP: "West and Central Africa at the Crossroads of Global Security Challenges" and "Economic Matters and Investment Opportunities in Mali, West Africa." Both events are free and open to the public.

Tibetan Monks Return to Campus of Indiana University of Pennsylvania

Tibetan Buddhist monks from Drepung Loseling Monastery will be in residence on the campus of Indiana University of Pennsylvania from March 21 until March 25. During this time, they will present a variety of events that will be open to both the campus and the community. Most of the events are free of charge.

Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Council of Trustees today approved naming spaces in IUP’s Cogswell Hall, home to the Department of Music, in honor of two long-time faculty members.

Chalk the Walk

Liberal Studies Fine Arts Courses Available During Winter Session

The following courses are available for students during winter session: ARHI 101, MUHI 101, and THTR 101. Any student needing a D/F repeat for FIAR 101 can receive this by taking one of these courses as well. Other courses of interest are ARHI 205 and 207 (which can fulfill LS electives). These are also available online during winter session.

The IUP Lively Arts Ovations series will present “Brasstacular” by the River City Brass Ensemble for one night only on Friday, February 7, at 8:00 p.m. in IUP’s Fisher Auditorium in the Performing Arts Center.

My IUP Path to Humanities and Social Sciences

On January 3, 2020, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences was represented at the SGA-hosted “My IUP Path” information fair in the HUB Ohio Room, where students learned more about the many programs offered by the college.
