2017 Flu Vaccine Clinic

2017 Flu Vaccine Clinics for the IUP Community

Rite Aid will be on campus to administer flu vaccinations to the IUP Community on October 18th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the HUB Susquehanna Room.  A higher flu shot dose is available for those over age 65.

Faculty, Managers, Coaches, OPEIU, and SPFPA employees and their covered dependents ages 9 and older enrolled in the Highmark PPO or the UPMC HMO plan can receive a free flu vaccine by presenting their health insurance ID card. (Eligibility for Healthy U Points when you receive your flu vaccination)

AFSCME, SCUPA, and PSSU employees and their covered dependents ages 9 and older enrolled in a PEBTF health plan, both PPO's and all HMO's, can receive a free flu vaccine by presenting their CVS/Caremark prescription drug card or their health insurance ID card.
**Please bring both cards**. Those not covered by a PASSHE or PEBTF health plan can also receive a flu shot at one of the flu shot clinics subject to a vaccination fee (cash only is due at the time the vaccine is administered). Receipts are available upon request by the pharmacy.

Registration is not required, however, in an effort to minimize your wait time, you are encouraged attend a clinic according to the following schedule:

IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON ATTENDING THE CLINIC  HERE ON CAMPUS, PLEASE FILL OUT THE SCREENING QUESTIONNAIRE AND CONSENT FORM AND TAKE WITH YOU TO THE CLINIC.
Other Opportunities for Receiving Flu Shots
All Highmark members (who are age 9 and older) can obtain a free flu shot at any Rite Aid, Giant Eagle, Gatti or CVS Pharmacy in Pennsylvania.  No appointment is necessary - the member must present their Highmark health insurance ID card.
Highmark members of all ages can obtain a free flu shot from their physician, however, an office visit co-payment may apply.

HMO members can also obtain a flu shot at their primary care provider's office (office visit co-payment may apply). Flu shots may also be obtained at any pharmacy or clinic that accepts HMO insurance or, if the pharmacy/clinic is non-participating, a claim form for reimbursement for out of pocket expenses may be submitted. A claim form is attached and receipts are available upon request from the pharmacy.

In partnership with IRMC , LEAN will begin on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, and will be held one time per week from  12:00 to 1:00 p.m in the Conemaugh Room at the HUB .

  • Pre- and post-biometric screenings (weight, waist measurement, body fat, blood pressure, and BMI)
  • Sixty-minute sessions that include nutrition, behavior change, and take-home workouts

Rodney Carrington

Rodney Carrington is a multi-talented comedian, actor, singer and writer who recorded eight major record label comedy albums, which have sold millions of copies. Rodney will take the stage at the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex on Friday, November 3rd at 8:00 pm.

According to Pollstar, Rodney has been one of the top ten highest grossing touring comedians for the last ten years and among the top 5 the last several years. Rodney is on track to be in the top 5 again this year as he regularly performs to sold out crowds across the US, Canada, and Australia.

He starred in his own TV sitcom Rodney, which ran for two seasons on ABC. He also co-wrote and co-starred with Toby Keith in the feature film Beer for My Horses which won the Tex Ritter Award from the ACM. Rodney added “author” to his list of accomplishments with the release of his first hardcover book entitled Rodney Carrington, Coming Clean published by Hatchette Books. Another of Rodney’s projects of which he is very proud is the Rodney Carrington Foundation, a 501c(3) which he founded that benefits charities who need a helping hand. Rodney’s popularity derives, in large part, from his connection with his audience, both at his live shows and through social media.

Since 2002 he has been performing his tribute show all over the United States. Wearing Sinatra’s signature fedora, bathed in expressive stage lighting, and singing his heart out at a vintage microphone, Dutra brings a luxurious supper-club elegance to Indiana for one night.

Christian music artist, Crowder is set to bring his American Prodigal Tour to the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex on Monday, November 6th at 7:00 pm.

David Crowder, known by his mononymous stage name “Crowder,” is an American Christian folktronica musician. He was the lead singer in the now defunct David Crowder Band. In 2012; Crowder decided to make a solo career for himself with sixstepsrecords and Sparrow Records labels.  His latest solo album, American Prodigal, was released in September 2016, and has delivered three singles so far, including “Run Devil Run,” “My Victory,” and “Forgiven.”

Aaron Lewis and Blackberry Smoke

Aaron Lewis and Blackberry Smoke will team up for the “Sinners and Sanctified Tour” this fall. Get ready for a night of rock and country! Country cross over artist, Aarron Lewis and rock band, Blackberry Smoke and are set to co headline a performance at the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex on Wednesday, November 8th at 8pm.

Aaron Lewis is an American musician and songwriter, who is the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, and founding member of the rock band Staind. In 2006, Lewis ranked in the Top 50 Heavy Metal Vocalists.  He has since ventured into country music with his debut solo EP Town Line. In September 2016, Aaron Lewis released is second solo album Sinner, with the lead single, “That Ain’t Country”.

 

Blackbery Smoke is an authentic American rock band that has become an accomplished group of musicians. Blackberry Smoke has never been a band that stands still. Whether pursuing the dream by logging hundreds of thousands of miles on America’s highways and abroad or relentlessly exploring the many facets of its most unique art form, the Atlanta quintet is always on the move. Like An Arrow, the bands lasts album, continues the trend of sonic exploration established on the Blackberry Smoke’s previous two releases, 2012’s The Whippoorwill and 2015’s chart-topping Holding All the Roses.

The Beach Boys

As The Beach Boys mark more than a half century of making music, the group continues to ride the crest of a wave unequalled in America’s musical history.  The Beach Boys have become synonymous with the California lifestyle and have become an American icon to fans around the world. The Beach Boys will pull into town to perform on Thursday, November 16 at The Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex in Indiana, PA.  

Since lead-singer man Mike Love penned the lyrics to The Beach Boys’ first hit, “Surfin’” (1961), dozens of the bands chart toppers have become eternal anthems of American youth:  “Surfin’ USA,” “Surfer Girl,” “Fun, Fun, Fun,” “I Get Around,” “California Girls,” “Help Me Rhonda,” “Barbara Ann,” “Good Vibrations,” “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” “Rock and Roll Music” and “Kokomo.”         

                                                    The Beach Boys have sold over 100 million records worldwide and have received more than 33 RIAA Platinum and Gold record awards.  The Rock And Roll Hall of Famers where also honored at the 2001 Grammy Awards with the Lifetime Achievement Award. With more than five decades of touring under their belts, The Beach Boys have performed more concerts than any major rock band in history.
