Overview

University Postal Services provides university students, faculty members, and staff with resources for shipping and receiving packages and all other services through the United States Postal Service and on-campus delivery systems. The University Post Office is a contract station of the United States Postal Service. It also offers standard mail (formerly known as bulk mail) services to university departments. All postal services are provided at the lower level of Folger Hall, at the Maple Street entrance.

Post Office Service Desk Hours of Operation

Folger Hall Post Office Service Desk window hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:55 p.m. The lobby and mailbox area are currently not open during non-service desk hours of operation.

Centralized Resident Hall Mail Boxes

The ongoing university initiative to enhance student services continues at the newly renovated University Post Office. More than four thousand centralized mailboxes have been created in a centralized location to expedite mail delivery to residence students. These mailboxes are assigned to IUP students by the Office of Housing, Residential Living, and Dining. More information on claiming an assigned mailbox can be found at How to claim your new mailbox.

Package Notification Services

Resident students who are recipients of packages from USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, USPS express, and USPS insured/certified will be sent an automatic confirmation email notification. A hard copy of this notification will then be placed in the post office box of the resident. Once you have received an email from the IUP postmaster that you have a package available, please wait at least 30 minutes before coming to claim your package to give enough time for processing. Packages will only be given to the addressee by showing proof of identity with an I-Card or driver's license at the University Post Office Service Desk.
