Bartram’s Boxes Inspired by Art and Nature

The University Museum at IUP will open its next exhibit, Bartram’s Boxes Remix, on March 26, 2016. This touring exhibition, a collaborative effort of the Center for Art in Wood and Bartram’s Garden, both located in Philadelphia, will be on display until May 7.

The work of IUP art professor emeritus Vaughn Clay will be honored at a public reception on Saturday, February 13, 2016, from 6:00–8:30 p.m. in the first floor atrium of IUP’s new College of Humanities and Social Sciences Building. Admission is free.

Day of the Dead Skeleton Processional Puppet Workshop

Museum Gala 2013 Tops Fundraising Goal

The University Museum’s gala “Night in Venice” was a party to remember. Guests in glitzy masks and festive mood dined on Venetian delicacies and were entertained by Harry’s Bar House Combo, the IUP Little Big Band, vocalists Laura Ferguson and Joe Baunoch, and dancers of the Mahoning Valley Ballet.

Arts Council Sponsors Jewelry Raffle for Museum

The Indiana Arts Council is sponsoring a raffle of an estate brooch in support of the University Museum. The brooch features three natural pearls with brilliant-cut diamonds in a pave setting of 14k white gold, with white gold chain. The total diamond weight is 0.51 carats.

University Museum Takes Its Show on the Road

The University Museum is touring last fall’s successful exhibit “Invisible Threads...Common Grounds” to the University Art Gallery at Clarion University. The exhibit, which includes masterworks from the museum’s permanent collection by Paul Binai, Herbert Olds, Kathe Kollwitz, and Francisco Goya, will run from September 10 through October 31, 2009.
