image of Barbara Hauge in a field of flowersPennsylvania registered landscape architect Barbara Hauge, of UpStreet Architects in Indiana, PA, will present a lecture on the importance of native perennials, shrubs, and trees and how to incorporate them into your garden spaces. The lecture takes place at the University Museum on Thursday, February 23, at 6:30 p.m.

Hauge, an International Society of Arboriculture certified arborist and green infrastructure professional, has degrees in horticulture and landscape architecture. Her landscape designs include public and private residential landscapes and commercial designs as well as education and play spaces. Her expertise includes native planting designs, tree and plant selection, meadow designs, and rain gardens.

Local community groups have recognized her community leadership, including being awarded the Peggy Clark Grassroots Environmental Leadership Award by the League of Women Voters of Indiana County, and she is listed on the Honor Roll of Exceptional Horticulturists by the Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania.
