Bridging the Gap: 2019 National CAE Virtual Career Fair

The National Centers of Academic Excellence (CAE) in Cybersecurity Virtual Career Fair will take place on September 27, 2019. Based on data from previous years, students/alumni from CAE-designated institutions come from a variety of disciplines, including cybersecurity, computer science, engineering, math, physics, and project management, to name a few. In addition, previous data indicates participants come from all different levels of educational attainment looking for internships, part-time, temporary, and full time job placements.

Microsoft, Mastercard, and Workday Team with Federal Government Agencies to Offer Cyber Pros Loan Assistance

Microsoft, MasterCard, and Workday announced this week they’ve teamed with 11 federal government agencies as part of a Cybersecurity Talent Initiative meant to fill hundreds of thousands of open cybersecurity jobs. Graduating college students can apply for a two-year placement in a security role at the FBI, CIA, or another agency. At the end of that two years they’ll be eligible for a position at one of those three companies, which will pay up to $75,000 of their student loan debt as part of their deal.

Research Experience for Undergraduates on Cyber-Physical System Cybersecurity

With funding from the National Science Foundation, the North Dakota State University Department of Computer Science and the Institute for Cyber Security Education and Research are pleased to offer a unique Research Experience for Undergraduates in the area of cybersecurity for cyber-physical systems.

IUP Receives Funding for Fourth Annual Gencyber Summer Camp

For the fourth consecutive year, IUP has been awarded funding from the National Security Agency and the National Science Foundation to offer a free week-long GenCyber summer camp for middle and high school students.

GenCyber Camp Applications Available

This free camp, funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation and the National Security Agency, is directed by Waleed Farag, director of IUP’s Institute for Cyber Security and professor of computer science.

BloomCON is a digital forensics, cybersecurity, and hacking conference, featuring a variety of speakers from academia, industry, and the military. Conference topics included lock picking, hardware hacking, drone hacking, and various competitions.

The National Security Agency is seeking nominations for its annual Best Scientific Cybersecurity Paper Competition. The competition recognizes excellence in security research. Papers considered for this honor are nominated by members of the public.
