On May 8, Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Council of Trustees honored Shagufta Haque for her service on the Council with a resolution of appreciation and the naming of a seat in IUP’s Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex in her honor “for extraordinary service as a university citizen and student trustee.”
On May 8, IUP’s Council of Trustees approved a proposal to shift IUP’s Academy of Culinary Arts and the Academy’s Baking and Pastry Arts programs from clock-hour to credit-bearing programs. This approval allows students who successfully complete the Culinary Arts or the Baking and Pastry Arts program to receive an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree.

IUP sponsors 19 NCAA Division II varsity teams in basketball, cross country, diving, field hockey, football, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track and field, and volleyball.
Our teams have won 104 PSAC championships and two national team championships; a number of student-athletes have won national championships. Scholarships are available for all varsity sports.
