The IUP Sexual Discrimination and Sexual Misconduct Policy provides detailed definitions,
reporting guidelines, and complaint resolution procedures. Elise Glenn, chief Diversity and Inclusion officer, is also the IUP Title IX coordinator and is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the policy. She can be reached

All IUP employees (including faculty, staff, managers, student employees, administrators), contractors, vendors, and designated volunteers are deemed “Responsible Employees” and are required to immediately report actual or suspected sexual discrimination or sexual misconduct to the Title IX coordinator (contact
information listed above).
Retaliation against individuals reporting such conduct, or participating in an investigative or administrative process, will not be tolerated and will be addressed through the appropriate university process.
All have a duty to report, unless they have been designated as having legal privilege (i.e., licensed counselors, clinical psychologists, medical staff) or are appointed with confidentiality. IUP may provide confidential
services as requested by alleged victims of sexual violence. Although a legally recognized privilege may not attach to these roles, the university respects the alleged victim’s expectations of privacy to the extent permissible by law while still ensuring
compliance with other reporting obligations. Individuals authorized to have confidentiality are required to report the nature, date, time, and general location of an allegation of sexual misconduct to the Title IX coordinator. Please review Individuals Appointed with Confidentiality, 2019–20.
By virtue of their job or position function, Campus Security Authorities (CSAs) are required to report crimes that have been brought to their attention. For more information, and a complete list of individuals/organizations identified

The Title IX coordinator ensures that support resources and process options are provided, and is responsible for monitoring investigations and outcomes of complaints. The Social Equity and Title IX Office works with the Office of Student Conduct, the
Office of Human Resources, and the University Police to assure compliance with Title IX and other requirements.
The Haven Project assists students with the issues of sexual violence, domestic/dating violence, and stalking. The staff support victims and survivors by providing
confidential counseling and information on resources, accommodations, and reporting options.
Resources through their office include the Survivor’s Handbook for all IUP campuses: Indiana, Northpointe, Pittsburgh East, and Punxsutawney. These handbooks include the Victim’s Bill of Rights.

The Haven Project works in collaboration with University Police, the Pennsylvania State Police,
Indiana Borough Police, the Alice Paul House, and the IUP Counseling Center.

Persons can request accommodations if their safety or well-being is at risk by contacting the Title IX coordinator or the Haven Project. Examples include changing academic schedules or on-campus housing assignments, use of IUP’s escort system, and adjustments
to work assignments.

Indiana University of Pennsylvania and its faculty are committed to assuring a safe and productive educational environment for all students. In order to meet this commitment and to comply with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and guidance
from the Office for Civil Rights, the university requires faculty members to report incidents of sexual violence shared by students to the university’s Title IX coordinator. The only exceptions to the faculty member’s reporting obligation are when
incidents of sexual violence are communicated by a student during a classroom discussion, in a writing assignment for a class, or as part of a university-approved research project.
members are obligated to report sexual violence or any other abuse of a
student who was, or is, a child (a person under 18 years of age) when
the abuse allegedly occurred to the person designated in the university protection of minors policy. Information regarding the reporting of sexual violence and the resources that are available to victims of sexual violence is set forth above.
All university personnel are considered “Mandated Reporters” and must report suspected child abuse and child neglect consistent with the university’s Protection of Minors Policy,
which is under the umbrella of the Office of Human Resources. Incidents of concern involving minors should be reported through the PA ChildLine and Abuse Registry.
Immediately following the report to the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, a mandated reporter must also notify University Police, who will assume
responsibility for facilitating the university’s cooperation with the investigation of the report. More than one report of the suspected abuse is not required.
