Graduate Student Outstanding Research Award Guidelines

Students who graduated in May, August, or December 2020, or who have finished their project and will graduate in May 2021, are eligible to be nominated by any department offering graduate courses. Awards of $100 will be announced in conjunction with Research Appreciation Week (April 5-9, 2021). See past award winners.

Procedure

The nominated student must submit an application in InfoReady Review. Faculty may nominate students by contacting them directly and encouraging them to prepare a proposal meeting the submission requirements. Nominating faculty must supply a nomination letter via the InfoReady Review submission system prior to the competition deadline. All materials must be received by 4:30 p.m. onMarch 5, 2021.

Submission Requirements

The application submission will be completed in InfoReady Review. Each submission must include the following:

  1. Title of the research project

  2. Student name, address, phone number, and email address

  3. Abstract (limit: 250 words)

  4. Theoretical relevance (limit: 500 words)

  5. Methodology (limit: 250 words)

  6. Findings (limit: 500 words)

  7. Conclusions and discussion (limit: 500 words)

  8. Bibliography

  9. Nominating letter from student's supervising faculty member

Additional Instructions

  1. Complete the application in InfoReady Review.

  2. A nominating letter from the student's supervising faculty member is required. The letter should be submitted via InfoReady Review.

  3. Proposals should be well-written and complete, although there is no need to fill out the page limits in each section.

  4. The proposal must be written by the student applicant; the nominating letter must be written by the student's supervising faculty member.

Proposal Submission and Deadline

The proposal and nominating letter must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. on March 5, 2021.
