Lisa Kuhn is a cooperative education teacher coordinator instructor in the Department of Career and Wellness Education.
Responsibilities and Achievements
Lisa Kuhn is a certified business, computer, and information technology (BCIT) educator (PK–12) and cooperative education educator (7–12) with more than 17 years of experience in secondary and post-secondary education. Throughout her career, she has served in a variety of educational roles, including computer and business teacher, retail marketing teacher, cooperative education coordinator, special education teacher, and learning support instructor.
Lisa’s career in education began as an instructional aide at Purchase Line High School. Early in that experience, a teacher encouraged her to consider how she could expand her impact beyond supporting one student to supporting an entire classroom. That encouragement became a catalyst for her professional journey and ultimately led her to pursue a master’s degree in business/workforce development and certification in BCIT education.
Throughout her career, Lisa has continued to expand her expertise to meet the diverse needs of students and the workforce. She has earned additional certifications in special education, marketing, and cooperative education, allowing her to support students through both academic and career-focused learning experiences.
Lisa has served as an instructor in Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Career and Technical Personnel Preparation since 2022. In this role, she prepares aspiring career and technical education professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to support students through career-focused education and work-based learning experiences.
In addition to her role at IUP, Lisa serves as the cooperative education coordinator and learning support instructor at Admiral Peary Area Vocational-Technical School. Her responsibilities include coordinating cooperative education and other work-based learning opportunities, supporting students in their transition from the classroom to the workplace, collaborating with employers and school personnel, and providing learning support to career and technical education students.
Lisa’s professional interests include cooperative education, work-based learning, career and technical education, student support, and connecting classroom learning with authentic workplace experiences.
