Del Hart, Director of the Center for Career and Technical Personnel PreparationResponsibilities and Achievements

Del Hart is an assistant professor in the Department of Career and Wellness Education and is the director of the IUP Center for Career and Technical Education Preparation.

Del is a certified biology and environmental science educator with both a BS and an MS degree in the field. His doctoral degree is also in education, with a focus on the organizational commitment of school leadership, faculty perceptions of the organizational commitment of school leadership, and the resulting effect on school robustness. Del is also active in educational consulting and excels in promoting the professional development of educators.

Del has held administrative leadership positions at the public high school level and at the postsecondary level. He was instrumental in gaining initial national accreditation as director for a post-secondary school in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and has since served at the dean’s level for post-secondary career and technical schools in Harrisburg. He also has held leadership positions at the Pennsylvania Department of Education, as the statewide coordinator of programs of study and professional development in the Bureau of Career and Technical Education, and as chief of the Division of Analysis and Financial Reporting in the Bureau of Special Education. Del’s primary contribution to education is transforming organizations to perform at their highest level by investing in their people.
