Event, Parking, and Transportation Information

  • IUP recommends that guests arrive early, before each ceremony, to allow for adequate travel time from parking areas to the Commencement ceremony locations. Designated parking lots near the ceremonies and across the IUP campus will be used for commencement parking at no charge. Parking attendants will direct you to available lots and parking spaces in the area.

Please see the IUP campus parking and shuttle route map for the Undergraduate Ceremony or the Graduate Ceremony, and the text-based, color-coded document from the IUP Parking website, for details.

Expect increased traffic on Wayne Avenue, Oakland Avenue, and Maple Street. Local traffic is encouraged to avoid this area and find alternative routes.

Parking for IUP Guests Requiring ADA Accessibility

Guests who require ADA Accessible parking may park in the lot directly in front of the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex (SE corner of facility, limited spaces) or directly west of the facility. Parking attendants on-site will direct you to the available spaces in the area. A disability parking placard is required to park in these areas. Please have placard displayed when arriving on campus. Map, Directions, and Parking

Drop-off for Guests with Limited Accessibility

For the safety of IUP guests and to maintain traffic flow, stopping and drop-off is prohibited along Pratt Drive.

Limited accessibility drop-off is permitted in the drive-through circle directly in front of the KCAC. Please also use the Indigo Shuttle Service available in each primary parking lot if you have difficulty walking extended distances.

    Indigo Guest Shuttle

Complimentary shuttle bus service will be available from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Friday, May 10, and from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, to provide transportation from the public parking areas to the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex before each Commencement ceremony, and from the venue back to the parking areas and around the IUP campus after the ceremony.

Shuttle drivers are available to assist with shuttle information and campus maps.

We appreciate your patience with the return shuttle, as it may take longer to get guests back to the parking lots. To view maps of the parking areas, or to access the coordinates for each lot, please visit the IUP Parking website.
