Academic advising at IUP is a partnership between our students and our faculty and staff. Working together, advisors help students take ownership of their educational goals and professional development.
Advisors
- Help students pursue academic, professional, and personal interests and goals
- Support student success by giving students resources and guidance
- Encourage student personal growth and independence
- Guide students as they prepare for the world beyond graduation
Advisor Meetings Play an Important Role in Success
Students should meet or talk to their advisors regularly to:
- Plan their classes for the upcoming semester before scheduling
- Discuss requirements for their major and their academic progress (which can impact financial aid)
- Talk about internships and career goals
- Ask questions
