Every semester, IUP faculty, staff, and students build meaningful relationships with each other and community members while completing service projects during the biannual Into the Streets event.
During this biannual day of service, IUP students are invited to become involved in the community by helping various nonprofit and/or human service agencies. It is an opportunity for local organizations to finish projects that may have been postponed due to a lack of time or resources. Past projects include tree planting/landscaping, conducting clean-up efforts, painting, and offering services to the aged or physically challenged. The projects are determined by the agencies involved.
This semester, Into the Streets is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2026. You can view the list of service projects and sign up to volunteer. Projects will vary in length and will take place between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
