IUP welcomes families to campus to spend time with their students at their home away from home. The weekend will be filled with various activities and events that allow families to spend time exploring campus. 

Registration for Family Weekend will open in the summer. Check back for a registration link.

Explore our Town

Outside of all the on-campus events, there are always plenty of things to do in the area, so take advantage of this time to explore. Whether you take a walk along Philadelphia Street or grab dinner out, you'll find lots of great local and chain businesses. Indiana has an array of things to do! You can find a list of them on the Indiana County Tourist Bureau website. And if you need a place to stay, there are plenty of hotels in the area

Northern Appalachian Folk Festival

Downtown Indiana, PA, is hosting the Northern Appalachian Folk Festival, Inc. just a few blocks from campus in downtown Indiana. 

Friday, September 8

  • Live Music from 4:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Main Stage on Philadelphia Street between 5th and 6th streets
  • Craft and food vendors will be open starting at 4:00 p.m.

Saturday, September 9

  • Children's Alley from noon to 5:00 p.m. in Delaney Chevrolet's parking lot on N. 6th Street
  • Live Music from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Main Stage on Philadelphia between 5th and 6th streets
