IUP welcomes families to campus to spend time with their students at their home away from home. The weekend will be filled with various activities and events that allow families to spend time exploring campus.

All alumni with children and grandchildren attending IUP in the fall are invited to attend the Legacy Breakfast on Saturday, September 28, at 8:30 a.m. in the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex. Students may bring up to two guests. Please register by September 18.

Explore our Town

Outside of all the on-campus events, there are always plenty of things to do in the area, so take advantage of this time to explore. Whether you take a walk along Philadelphia Street or grab dinner out, you'll find lots of great local and chain businesses. Indiana has an array of things to do! You can find a list of them on the Indiana County Tourist Bureau website. And if you need a place to stay, there are plenty of hotels in the area.

  • Lit Night at the Artists Hand, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
    A community-based place to share your favorite literature. Something you wrote or something you’re reading. Or just come to listen and be that appreciative audience.

  • Indiana County Farmers Market, 9:00 a.m. to Noon at South 8th St. and Church St.
    A vibrant outdoor market featuring over a dozen vendors offering fresh, local vegetables, fruits, flowers, baked goods, meats, eggs, honey, seedlings, and more! Special occasions include live music, artisans, and community health days. SNAP/EBT, credit, debit, and cash are accepted.

    Pick your own pumpkins and enjoy the fall photo areas.
