2019 BA and BFA Exhibition

Kipp Gallery, First Floor Sprowls Hall

The annual exhibition showcases an impressive collection of visual artwork of the university’s graduating art students.

This exhibit runs from May 3 to May 11.

Kipp and Annex Gallery Hours: noon–4:00 p.m., Tuesday–Friday. Closed Monday, Saturday, Sunday and all university holidays and breaks.

Vocal Repertoire Ensemble, Final Class

Gorell Recital Hall, Second Floor Sutton Hall

Mrs. Winnica-Young's Vocal Repertoire Ensemble presents their final class as an open rehearsal of the music worked on this Spring semester. Featuring compositions from the pre-classical period to the 21st century, the class explores composers and works that have mad an impact in music history.

IUP’s Theater-by-the-Grove presents the iconic Broadway musical Pippin. A young prince yearning to find adventure makes a strange alliance with a group of travelers who takes him on a magical journey to be extraordinary. But is the journey real… or only in his mind?

Ticket Fees of $3 per ticket are applied to purchases made online, by phone, and at the Lively Arts Ticket Office** on the day and night of show.

To avoid ticket fees, please purchase your tickets at the Lively Arts Ticket Office** in advance the day before the show or earlier.

*I-Card (for IUP students and current SCA members) and Military discounted tickets must be purchased in person at the Ticket Office. Cards must be presented to be verified.

Concert: Twitterlieder and Alzheimer's Stories

Fisher Auditorium, IUP Performing Arts Center

Join the IUP Concert Chorale, under the baton of conductor Ryan Beeken, as they present the powerful modern oratorio Alzheimer’s Stories by Robert S. Cohen and Herschel Garfein. The concert also will feature a light-hearted work by Charles Anthony Silvestri and James Eaken called #twitterleider, which chronicles the cycle of a person’s life from youth to old age through 15 “tweets” limited to only 140 characters each.

Indiana Concert Band Spring Concert

Gorell Recital Hall

The IUP Community Music School's Indiana Concert Band will perform their annual Spring Semester concert at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 12th in Gorell Recital Hall (2nd floor Sutton Hall).

The band will perform a variety of selections, to include: Antithigram by Jack Stamp; Symphonic Suite by Clifton Williams; Tower Bridge by Robert Washburn; A Festival Prelude by Alfred Reed; and a trio of works by Percy Grainger, The duke of Marlborough Fanfare, Shepherd's Hey, and the famous Irish Tune from County Derry.

Crimson Youth Choir Spring Concert

The IUP Community Music School's Crimson Youth Choir will perform their annual Spring Semester concert at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17th in Gorell Recital Hall (2nd floor Sutton Hall).

The choir will perform a variety of choir selections on the first half of the concert. The second half will feature a 50 to 60-minute children's musical production from Beat by Beat Press titled, Giants In the Sky, a magical story that explores the world of Giants who live above the clouds.

Ever since they left Earth a long time ago, the Giants have made a life up above where their job is to keep the sky beautiful. They polish the stars, poke the clouds to let it rain and paint the sunsets. But there is one curious Giant who wonders what life is like on Earth, so she steals a key to the locked up “beanstalk” and embarks on an adventure down below!

Indiana Community Choir Spring Concert

The IUP Community Music School's Indiana Community Choir will perform their annual Spring Semester concert at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 19th in Gorell Recital Hall (2nd floor Sutton Hall).

Under the direction of Artistic Director Jon Erik Schreiber, the choir will be performing one of W.A Mozart's many masterpieces, his Requiem Mass.
