IUP offers many things to do that focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion topics.

Arts and Entertainment

Recent events have included an exhibit of works by some of the region’s diverse artists; a visit by touring Tibetan monks who shared their region’s sacred arts; an original ballet about an Amish girl who wants to pursue a career in dance; and a play in which damage to Earth’s ozone causes a shift in the racial balance. Dating, Domestic, and Sexual Violence Awareness

Regular programs include the Take Back the Night march and speak-out; a RAINN Day umbrella display in the Oak Grove to support the Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network; and the What Were You Wearing? campaign and exhibit, which debunks the myth that sexual violence happens based on the victim’s clothing. Intercultural Awareness

The Center for Multicultural Student Leadership and Engagement tackles tough topics through its Lunch and Learn sessions and weekly Six O’Clock Series, discusses challenges and opportunities in becoming a leader through its Leadership in a Multicultural Society program, provides weekly meetups for Black and Brown students to socialize and have fun, and offers numerous events through the more than 200 student organizations it coordinates.
