Update on Spring 2020 Graduate Assistantships (GAs): We understand that there are questions about the work status of GAs in light of the current Coronavirus situation. GAs are first and foremost students and, as such, they are included in all university-level
decisions relating to students. This means that they cannot and should not be compelled to return to campus until such time that all students are brought back. With that said, it is acceptable for them to complete their responsibilities remotely.
Also, consistent with Federal Work Study guidelines, if a GA wants to return to work on site, they are not prohibited from doing so. In addition, all stipends and tuition awards will be honored. GAs will continue to receive their stipend payments,
and their tuition awards for this semester have already been applied.
