Experience and Interests

Nadene L'Amoreaux joined our faculty in 1999. Nadene completed her doctoral degree in the Kent State University (Ohio) counseling and human development program. Her dissertation focused on perceptions that preadolescents/adolescents diagnosed with ADHD have about homework interventions used by their parents in completing homework assignments.

She has taught a variety of classes within the department, including Ethical and Legal Issues, Child Practicum, Child Group Practicum, Counseling Across the Lifespan, and Internship. She has also developed two new courses for the department: Family Issues in Counseling and a new elective, Spirituality Issues in Counseling. She is a licensed professional counselor, an approved clinical supervisor, has experience working with children in a partial hospitalization program, and has experience counseling adolescents, couples, and families.

She has published in the areas of working with groups in virtual settings and the use of reflecting teams in supervision. She has presented at many local, state, regional, and national conferences on topics related to working with children with ADHD, use of WebCT as an instructional tool, using supervision contracts, and promoting information literacy in counseling courses.

She currently serves as an editorial review board member for the Journal of the Pennsylvania Counseling Association. Her professional memberships include the American Counseling Association, Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, Association for Spiritual, Ethical and Religious Values in Counseling, Pennsylvania Counseling Association, Pennsylvania Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, Pennsylvania Association for Spiritual, Ethical and Religious Values in Counseling, North Atlantic Region Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, and Chi Sigma Iota-Iota Upsilon Pi Chapter.
