Tutoring Center

The Tutoring Center located in B02 Stabley Library holds in-person tutoring sessions for a variety of subjects.

Students seeking tutoring during the summer sessions can contact Hillary Stitt, coordinator for the IUP Tutoring Center, at hstitt@iup.edu to be connected with tutoring and academic resources, including access to tutor.com, a free 24/7 online tutoring service available to enrolled IUP students in a variety of subjects.

Departmental Tutoring

SkillZone

SkillZone is a free drop-in center for all IUP international students and scholars (American Language Institute, undergraduate, exchange, and graduate) to access support for their classes and to develop academic skills for success, such as

  • Presentation and communication skills
  • Study strategies
  • Managing classroom expectations
  • Understanding academic integrity expectations
  • Group discussions

Supplemental Instruction

Supplemental Instruction sessions are offered for select introductory-level courses, primarily in natural sciences and required for majors.  Peer leaders assist students with how to learn course content via active, collaborative learning. In these sessions, you will review lecture notes, clarify text material, and prepare for exams as a group.
