The Student Inclusion Office, under the direction of Roger Briscoe II, serves as a central hub for fostering an inclusive and supportive campus environment. Our office oversees a variety of programs and services designed to build community and ensure that all students have the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.

Key Services and Initiatives

  • Nonresidential Affinity Groups: Supporting the unique needs of graduate, commuter, and transfer students through specialized groups designed to foster a sense of belonging and community.
  • Diversity Peer Educators: Peer-led programs that educate and promote diversity and inclusion across campus.
  • Overseeing Multicultural and LGBTQIA+ Support Offices: Offering resources and advocacy for underrepresented groups, providing safe spaces, and programming to support students' identities and experiences.
  • Food Pantry and Help Center: Addressing food insecurity on campus, providing essential resources for students in need.
  • Folger Student Center: A vibrant space for student engagement and activities, supporting social interaction and community building.
  • Crimson Scholar Circle: A support program aimed at empowering students from underrepresented backgrounds to achieve academic success.
  • Podcasting and Social Media Content: We engage the IUP community through innovative platforms, including podcasts and social media, highlighting student voices and inclusive initiatives.
  • Dr. Briscoe's Trivia: A fun, interactive way to engage students while promoting learning and diversity awareness.
  • Data Collection: We collect and analyze descriptive data to better understand students' experiences, expectations, and participation on campus.

Opportunities On and Off Campus

  • 2024 PASSHE Summit: October 28–29. In-person sessions at Millersville University and virtual/hybrid sessions on Zoom. Register and find out more info!
  • Into the Streets: September 21. Service opportunity to preserve nature in Whites Woods Nature Center. From 10:00 a.m. to noon. Meet at the College Lodge Parking Lot (239 College Lodge Road, Indiana, PA 15701)  at 10:00 a.m. 
  • The Black Experience Alumni Committee (BEAC) Chat & Chew: October 2, 6:00–8:00 p.m. in the HUB Monongahela Room. The purpose of this event is to build professional relationships, expand the IUP Black alumni community, share our knowledge and experiences, and be an inspiration to others. Register!
