As part of our ongoing work to create a more student-focused university, I invite you to attend our Informal Conversations gatherings during the spring semester.
The Informal Conversations take place in different locations and at varied times to accommodate as many people as possible. Each gathering will include members of the president’s cabinet. I will join these meetings as my schedule permits.
The Informal Conversations will not have a focused topic since the goal is to listen to you. We want to answer your questions, hear your suggestions on how we can create a more student-centered university, and allow you time to meet with us and with one another. These events are in-person only and no RSVP is required.
The schedule of spring semester Informal Conversations are:
- Tuesday, February 24, 11 a.m. to noon—Stright Hall Room 302
- Tuesday, April 14, 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. — Punxsutawney Learning Commons, Room 129, 1012 Winslow Street, Punxsutawney
Additional reminders for these events will be sent closer to the dates of the programs.
In addition, all students and employees are invited to the final Open Conversation Series event on April 27 in the Blue Room on the first floor of Sutton Hall during the Common Hour (11:20 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.) as we continue our celebration of our university's 150th anniversary.
IUP is an exciting place to be. While we all have busy schedules, I encourage you to use our university communication channels to stay up to date on campus events that may be of interest:
IUP Now web page—updated daily, includes important news, events, and achievements across the university.
IUP Now newsletter—our official news email sent on Wednesdays with top news.
The Pathfinder—IUP student news email is sent on Fridays to better inform and involve students in events.
IUP Weekly Roundup—10 to 15 campus events are promoted each Monday on IUP’s Instagram channel
Thank you for your participation in the Informal Conversations. Your thoughtful questions and comments have been valuable as we create a stronger university and renewed focus on student success.
Best wishes for a productive and enjoyable spring semester.
Michael A. Driscoll
President
P.S. -- Gentle reminder: as announced in an earlier email from Provost Luetkehans, all classes on February 9 are canceled to provide an opportunity for faculty and staff to be part of an all-employee event.
