Center for Transportation

  • The Center for Transportation focuses on injury prevention by offering safety and drivers education courses and by coordinating Community Traffic Safety Projects in PennDOT District 10-0. A secondary focus for the Center for Transportation is Active Transportation by working with communities in Pennsylvania to foster and improve walk-friendly and bike-friendly places.

    Safety/Driver Education Teacher Certification is the last program of its kind in Pennsylvania that certifies teachers and instructors to teach driver education. The program requires completion of four core courses. More information about Safety/Driver Education Teacher Certification .

    Novice Driver Training is designed for those with a valid Pennsylvania Learner’s Permit or for those individuals needing remedial work in driving. Please contact our office for more information at: 724-357-4051.

    Karns City Simulator Community Traffic Safety Projects  in PennDOT District 10-0, including Armstrong, Butler, Clarion, Indiana, and Jefferson counties, are funded through a grant from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
