Richard HsaioResponsibilities/Achievements

Richard Hsiao is a professor for the Sport Management program, coordinator for the MS in Sport Management and the MS in Sport Studies, and director of the James G. Mill Center for Health and Fitness. Before he came to IUP, he taught sport law, sport marketing, and lifetime activity courses at Florida State University for four years.

Hsiao's marketing interest is in the impact of strategic brand image management in international sports events and the globalization effects related to the sport business industry. He has presented at more than 100 national and international professional conferences. He writes regularly, and his published work includes articles in Clocks & Sleep, Nutrients, Journal of Applied Learning & Teaching, Journal of Recreation and Leisure, International Journal of Aquatic Education and Research, Sport and Leisure Management International Report, and International Journal of Business in Sport, Tourism & Hospitality Management. Hsiao also published a textbook, The Management of Business in Sport: A Global Perspective.
