The James G. Mill Center for Health and Fitness in Zink Hall hosted its 5K Retro Run/Walk on Saturday, April 29, 2017.
The 5K took place around beautiful South Campus, beginning on the Miller Stadium Track at 11:00 a.m.
All proceeds were donated to the Alice Paul House, whose mission is to promote awareness of domestic violence, sexual assault, and victimization in our community through primary prevention and educational programs; to assist and empower all victims of crime; and to provide safety to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. For more information on the
race, visit us on our Facebook page, James G. Mill Center for Health and Fitness.
This year’s course featured a scenic and mostly level course around South Campus, the KCAC, and the Hilton Hotel.
The cost for the event was $17 for members, $15 for non-members, and $10 for students. We gave out medals for the top three male and female in each of seven age groups, as well as prizes for various categories, including walkers! The top male finisher was Ben Shultz, and the top female finisher was Noreen See. The top walker was Brianne Lenhart.
This was an amazing event and we raised a total of $400 for the Alice Paul House. Thank you to everyone who played a role in making this event a success!
