This beginner Excel training session covers essential skills, including navigating the user interface, entering data, basic formatting, using fundamental functions like SUM and AVERAGE, and printing workbooks. Participants learn to create, save, and manage spreadsheets, as well as use autofill and create simple charts. 

Key Topics in a Beginner Session 

  • Getting Started: Understanding cells, columns, rows, and worksheets, and opening/saving workbooks.
  • Data Entry & Editing: Typing text, numbers, and dates, editing cell content, and using the autofill feature to copy data.
  • Basic Formulas & Functions: Creating simple formulas (and using functions like SUM, AVERAGE, MIN, MAX, and COUNT.
  • Formatting Data: Changing fonts, applying borders, cell shading, text alignment, and number/currency formatting.
  • Managing Worksheets: Inserting, deleting, renaming, and reordering worksheets, as well as freezing panes.
  • Basic Data Management: Sorting and filtering data to quickly analyze information.
  • Printing: Setting print areas, adjusting page margins, and scaling.
