Volunteer Training: Domestic Violence Awareness Month

The Haven Project invites you to volunteer for events in October for Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Join us to explore the realities of domestic and dating violence.  Learn about the resources available to support you or someone you know, and find out how you can be an ally and take action.

According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence

  • 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men aged 18 and older in the US have been the victim of severe physical violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime.
  • Intimate partner violence alone affects more than 12 million people every year.
  • 58% of college students say they don’t know what to do to help someone who is a victim of dating abuse.

The more informed you are, the more prepared you can be to recognize and stop abuse.

Sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, and stalking are difficult topics. Resources are available. You are not alone.
