IUP held the National Security Agency/National Science Foundation-sponsored GenCyber Summer 2021 Combo camp virtually in August 2021. The camp addressed essential security concepts through hands-on activities, challenging projects, and guest lectures by leaders of industry.

Combo Camp (Middle and High School Students and Teachers)

  • Camp Dates: August 2-6, 2021
  • Camp's focus was on several technical topics on cybersecurity and safe online behavior.

Participation Advantages

  1. The camp was offered at no cost to participants.
  2. The camp was be offered online so participants joined from the comfort of their homes using their own computers.
  3. Instructions and mentorship from IUP faculty and other security experts.
  4. Valuable knowledge and skills that prepares participants to know more about a very promising and growing career field.

Students

  • A small-sized computer (Raspberry Pi) kit was awarded to each participant.

Teachers

  • $750 stipend was awarded to teacher participants after completing all program requirements.
  • Act 48 credits (30+ hours based on actual attendance) was also given.
