Join the IUP Career and Professional Development Center on Wednesday, March 22, at 6:00 p.m. in the Great Room in Elkin Hall for their next installment of this spring’s Career Ready Seminar Series, “Designing Your Dream Life,” presented by CPDC team member Marylou Neidig.

Figuring out who you are, who you want to be, and what you want to do with your life is no small feat and something that people struggle with regularly. Join this informative discussion on design thinking and learn strategies to help you answer some of these tricky questions. Inspired by topics and ideas covered in the Designing Your Life book by Stanford professors Bill Burnet and Dave Evans, this CRSS event will give you the tools needed to design a life that is authentic to you and adaptable for the future.

The Career Ready Seminar Series is inspired by the National Association of Colleges and Employers career competencies. This type of intentional programming aims to provide targeted programming to help IUP students gain and understand the necessary skills and competencies to be successful as they transition from higher education into the professional world.

Neidig, who is presenting this workshop, stated, “I am really looking forward to talking with students about life design, which is a topic I’ve been working with extensively over the last year. If you are someone who has ever struggled to answer the question, ‘what do you want to be when you grow up,’ I think you’d benefit from what we are sharing. Even if that statement doesn’t apply to you, we will spend a significant amount of time exploring how to use design thinking strategies to help people discover who they want to be and how to get there. And that’s something I think all students could benefit from hearing.”
