Looking to advance in your nursing career? IUP’s Online MSN program is currently accepting applications.

The 36-credit online MSN program offered by Indiana University of Pennsylvania is broken down into two tracks, Administration and Education. Courses are offered in a seven-week asynchronous format that allows for scheduling flexibility for working professionals. The seven-week format also means that the department can offer open enrollment, allowing you to apply any time for a start in fall or spring. Both tracks can be completed in two years if pursued part-time (six credits per semester). Still an undergraduate student at IUP? The program participates in the Graduate Early Admission program!

The Administration track prepares nurses for leadership roles in healthcare settings, such as unit managers or chief nursing officers. The Education track is geared toward those who want to educate the next generation of nurses or who want to work in educating patients and guiding nursing staff in continuing education.

The internship requirement for this program provides the student with a chance to work in their area of interest. With prior authorization from the program coordinator, this opportunity can be completed anywhere for those who don’t live near Indiana.

Faculty and graduates of the program speak highly of the flexibility of the professors in understanding that students are often working professionals who have a variety of responsibilities. The program also boasts a high rate of job placement following graduation. If students are seeking funding for the program, please reach out to the program coordinator, Pamela O'Harra (p.s.oharra@iup.edu), for information about graduate assistantships and scholarships.
