The Office of Student Wellness is responsible for coordinating distribution of information required by The Drug Free Schools and Communities Act (DFSCA). As such, we want you to be aware that it is against University Policy to engage in the following:

Possessing, using, or distributing illicit drugs.

Possessing, consuming, or distributing alcohol except as permitted by IUP Policy.

Possessing, using, or distributing marijuana.
-
Possessing, using, or distributing prescription drugs that are not prescribed to you.
-
Distributing prescription drugs.
-
Misusing/abusing over the counter medications.
Marijuana On Campus
Marijuana and Medical marijuana are not permitted on campus under federal law. Although state law has changed the federal law has not, and marijuana remains an illegal substance federally. As a result, regardless of state and local law changes, institutions of higher education who receive federal funding are expected to continue to abide by the DFSCA by maintaining policies which prohibit marijuana possession, use, or distribution by students, staff, faculty, volunteers, and visitors. Possession and/or use of marijuana in any form on campus is not permitted regardless of whether you possess a legal medicinal marijuana card.
In addition, marijuana is not decriminalized in Indiana county and possession is punishable by full extent of the law.
