Timothy Runge, professor in the Educational and School Psychology Department, was invited to present a one-hour webinar for the National Association of School Psychologists on the topic of "Return to School Special Series: Classroom Interventions for Writing, Post-COVID-19."

Runge presented on the current status of writing proficiency among US students and the complexities of learning how to write across genres. He then discussed evidence-based practices that educators can use with all students to promote reading and writing skill acquisition, with an emphasis on the unique challenges of accomplishing this upon returning to school. Runge drew on the work of experts in literacy and writing instruction, his own research and professional consultation, and research completed by doctoral students under his mentorship.

This webinar was recorded and posted on the NASP website along with content material for members to view.
