Procurement Services is responsible for contracting goods and services with outside businesses on behalf of the university. As such, it is the principle interface between vendors and university customers. The vendor management function involves solicitation to bid, awarding bids and subsequent negotiation, contract development, and execution. Procurement Services strives to obtain desired goods and services within the laws and compliance policies of the Commonwealth and the State System Board of Governors.
Strategic initiatives include, but are not limited to, supplier diversity, cooperative purchasing, professional development, collaborative efforts with State System universities, and supporting the strategic initiatives of the university.
Procurement Services is the purchasing function of university supply management. The department also includes Central Stores.
