Rhonda Luckey, vice president for Student Affairs, will be retiring as the fall 2018 semester begins.

Luckey has served the university and its students during the last 30 years.

“Energetic; creative; artistic; thoughtful—these attributes all describe Dr. Luckey,” IUP President Michael Driscoll said.

“She has an incredible dedication to our students and to this university, and is respected by her peers across the State System of Higher Education. She is a key member of the leadership team, consistently setting a tone of collegiality and collaboration that has been fundamental to our successes.

“She is part of the soul of this institution, and I know how much this university continues to mean to her,” Driscoll said. “I wish her the very best.”

A professional external to IUP will join the university in mid-August as interim vice president for Student Affairs to allow for a national search for the position. A search committee will be formed in September.

“It has been an honor to have been a member of this fine university throughout these many years,” Luckey said. “I have been blessed to have worked side by side with wonderfully talented and dedicated colleagues. Together, we have engaged with our students, listened to their stories, and responded to their needs—always with our commitment to student success at the forefront of our work.

“To serve IUP and our students in this way has been a privilege for which I am most grateful.”
