I am saddened to share that Tyler Kulp, of Laureldale, Berks County, a student in the master's program in music, died Saturday morning following a car accident in Indiana County.

Mr. Kulp recently performed his degree recital and was slated to receive a master of arts in music performance at May commencement. He was an active percussionist in the Music Department, performing in the Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Steel Band, and Symphony Orchestra. His research on keyboard percussion techniques, presented at the April Graduate Scholars Forum, won the Dean's Award for Excellence, a first-place award. He also served as vice president of the Graduate Student Assembly for the past two years.

A viewing will be held on Friday evening, May 9, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Milkins Giles Funeral Home, 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple, Pa. and Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until time of service in Immanuel United Church of Christ

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 10 at 11:00 a.m. in Immanuel United Church of Christ, 99 S. Waverly St., Shillington, Pa. with Rev. Rebecca Hoover officiating

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Online condolences may be made on the the Milkins Giles Funeral Home website.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions be made to a trust fund to support the education of Mr. Kulp's daughter, Hannah Jewell. Donations may be made in her name and sent to One United Church of Christ, 1730 New Holland Avenue, Kenhorst, Pa., 19607.
