Mark your calendar to meet with a representative of the presidential search firm; share what qualities you think IUP's new president should have. Two open forums take place Friday, September 9, 2011, in the HUB's Ohio Room.

Two sessions will take place—one for faculty members from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., and one for administrators, staff members, and students from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.

John Thornburgh of Witt-Kieffer will host both sessions and plans to explore the following issues at each:

  • What is distinctive about the mission, campus, and culture of IUP?
  • What are the top three to four strategic, operational, and/or financial priorities that the next president should be expected to focus on during his or her first year to two years?
  • What career experiences and leadership competencies will best equip the next president to accomplish that agenda?
  • What interpersonal skills and personal qualities will best equip the president to work effectively within the culture of IUP and Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education?
  • What are the selling points about IUP and the Indiana region that will compel the most attractive candidates to explore this opportunity?
