All members of the IUP community are invited to attend groundbreaking ceremonies for the Phase III Residential Revival Project on Thursday, May 8, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at the entrance to Wallace Hall. This project is directed by the Foundation for IUP and is a partnership between the foundation and the university. The Phase III groundbreaking continues our $270 million multi-phase and multi-year project--the largest of its type in the nation--that is transforming the way that students live and learn on campus.

As part of Phase III, Campus Towers, Esch and Wallace Halls and the Pechan Health Center will be razed to make way for two new residence hall buildings: Sutton Suites and the Suites on Pratt.

I am also pleased to inform you that the new facilities constructed during Phase II, the Suites on Maple and Northern Suites, are on schedule for fall 2008 opening. These buildings will include the Center for Health and Well-Being (which includes Student Health, Counseling and Health Awareness); the Office of Housing and Residence Life, and Student Housing Development in the ground floor amenity spaces.

I hope you can join me for this event to help us celebrate this important initiative.
