Payroll Services

  • In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Office of Payroll Services is in “Remote Work Status.” Our offices are closed to the public until further notice. We are maintaining normal business hours.

    Please use payroll-services@iup.edu to communicate inquiries, documents, timesheets, and issues.     

    Winter Break Employment

    • The first day of employment for Winter Break will be 12/19/20
    • The last day of employment for Winter Break is 1/15/21
    • Student workers will not be exempt from FICA taxes (Social Security/Medicare) for hours worked over Winter Break unless enrolled in at least one credit, beginning with the 1/15/2021 paycheck.
    • Federal Work Study (FWS) earnings will be counted toward the spring 2021 award.

    Spring 2021 Employment

    • The first day of employment for spring 2021 semester 1/16/21
    • The last day of employment for spring 2021 semester is 5/7/21
    • Exemption from FICA taxes (Social Security/Medicare) will begin with the 2/12/2021 paycheck.

    Student Employment Instructions

    • Students may work during the 2020–21 academic year if:

      • there is work for the student and it can be done remotely; or

      • if the department is not working remotely, there is work for the student in the office and he/she follows all safety protocols.

    • If your student is no longer working in your department, please complete the Student Employment Change form or send the "Request to Term" notification via eTime.

    • Please check first eligibility for 2020–21 Federal Work Study (FWS) on MyIUP > Personal Info > Federal work study eligibility for potential student workers link. Questions regarding a student’s eligibility should be sent to financial-aid@iup.edu.

    • If you are employing a new student in your department, after hiring the student through Hire a Hawk and receiving a work authorization email with your student’s start date, please complete the Student Employment Profile Sheet and send it to human-resources@iup.edu.

    All printed paychecks will be mailed to the address on record and will not be available for pickup at the Payroll Office located at G11 Sutton Hall.

    If you are in need of a copy of your W-2, active employees should first check your Employee Self Service profile for the electronic version. Separated employees and those who have not yet elected an electronic W-2, please complete the W-2 Reissue Request form.
