Congressman John P. Murtha will be a guest lecturer in Dr. Mac Fiddner's American Foreign Policy class from noon to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 9, 2009, in McElhaney Hall, Room 110. The lecture will be presented via video conference from Murtha's Washington, D.C., office.

Murtha will discuss the role of Congress in foreign policy decisions, give firsthand accounts from his experience representing the United States abroad, and answer student questions on current affairs and issues.

Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense, Murtha has traveled worldwide to take part in Congressional and Presidential fact-finding missions, meet with foreign leaders, monitor international elections, and represent the United States Congress abroad.
