Research Appreciation Week spotlights the spirit of innovation and collaboration shared by all disciplines and recognizes the contributions that IUP original research and scholarship make to the region and world.

Research Appreciation Week includes a number of events showcasing the outstanding research done by IUP's faculty and students, including the Scholar's Forum held on April 8, 2020.

Watch as Health and Wellness Promotion's Assistant Director, Sara Dillon, shows you how to make a smoothie using frozen strawberries, bananas, yogurt, and apple juice. Watch on these Instagram feeds: @iupaware or @iupranger1.

This workshop will explore examples of real myths, marvels, and monsters.

Examples can range from examples in literature (such as Frankenstein’s monster, magical realism, miracle narratives and plays, retellings of myth, animism, and more) to documented examples of popular myths (like creature myths such as Sasquatch, dragons, and fairy tales), historical or archeological research focusing on the mythic, and theories surrounding how the mythic, marvelous, and monstrous are represented in literature, society and history.

Panelists: Theresa Smith (Religious Studies), Benjamin Ford and Abigail Adams (Anthropology) This workshop is free and open to the community.

Concurrent exhibitions showcasing works by the Spring 2020 Master of Fine Arts candidates from IUP's Art Department.  These exhibitions celebrate the final stages of graduate degree work and feature a wide variety of styles and media. The exhibits are presented across three campus venues in Sutton and Sprowls Hall. 

University Museum Hours: 2:00–6:00 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday; noon-7:30 p.m. Thursday; noon–4:00 p.m. Saturday. Closed Sunday and Monday.

Kipp and Annex Gallery Hours: noon–4:00 p.m., Tuesday–Friday. Closed Monday, Saturday, Sunday and all university holidays and breaks.

This exhibit runs from March 31, 2020 to April 25, 2020
